The Wow Factor: Taking Foil Stamping to the Next Level
Thursday, December 10, 2015
2:00 p.m. Eastern (11:00 a.m. Pacific)

In PaperSpecs’ upcoming free webinar sponsored by VMA Storyboard, Ben Levitz, Founder and Principal of Studio on Fire, will explore the luxurious world of foil stamping, when the art form steps beyond the constraints of basic gold and silver.

Palo Alto, California – November 24, 2015 – At the forefront of the current letterpress movement—the rediscovery of old printing machines and techniques by young designers—lie techniques such as foil printing, which has enjoyed a renaissance among forward-thinking designers. Explore the phenomenal detail and haptic sensuousness of Studio on Fire’s work, as it transcends the differences between current and classical graphic design styles; and discover how foil stamping can enhance the final, tangible product in wild, boundary pushing and provocative ways.

“Foil stamping is often thought of as basic gold or silver accents, but it is so much more,” says Sabine Lenz, founder of PaperSpecs.com. “From elegant tone in tone, to holographic effects to out-of-this world detail, designers are taking foil stamping to new heights. Ben and his team are the masters who push the limits and make us rethink foil.”

This webinar will showcase multiple examples of some of the most evocative foil stamping uses, such as metallic, white, pigment and clear foils over various forms of letterpress, embossing and offset printing, both wowing and inspiring the imagination.
