PDF: Pantone Disorder (Food)

pantonefoodAs creatives, we take a certain pride in our jargon, our tools, and our whimsy. However, occasionally you can’t help but wonder if the pressures of dealing with clients, being creative on a dime, and otherwise living in our heads results in some, well, mental irregularities.

We got to wondering this after seeing this blog post on the different ways that Pantone colors have been adopted for various food projects. Now we always enjoy a good Pantone riff – Beertone is still our favorite. Yet glancing at these Pantone foods quickly becomes more disturbing than whimsical. Certainly foodies are prone to a bit of gentle OCD to begin with, and designers more so. (We blame style sheets.) But combined – this seems a whole new level of affliction.
