The WE Story

96westory
While monograms are a traditional component in weddings, the happy coincidence in this case is that the first initial of the bride (Winnie) and groom (Eric) created the word we. And “WE” became the launch pad for a truly remarkable invitation.

The course of this storybook romance is told with poetry inside the eight pages of a hard cover book complete with die-cut pop-outs. The first pop-out is the letter “W” that springs from the center of the spread. Turn the page, and the second is a metallic paper “E” that reveals itself from under a secret hiding place.

The next spread pays homage to the fact that the bride’s first name ends in the same letter as the groom’s first name begins – so a moveable “E” inside a red paper heart connects the names into one.

But WE doesn’t end there. There is a narrative of East meeting West for this couple of Asian heritage. The final spread of the book contains the actual invitation – English on one side and the expressive characters of the Chinese language on the other. The Asian influence can also be seen in the choice of a dramatic red and gold color palette. An outer box made from gold paper with a red lining bears the book to those special invited guests.

There was no detail left unattended in this unique wedding invitation. The end sheets front and back on the book have been printed with repeating sentences that read, “Marriage is a long, intricate, intimate dance. Love keeps the dance going.”  This invite was a long intricate, intimate dance as well. And we loved it.

The WE Story was featured as a Paper Inspiration.
