Primo Angeli Print

Nevada Museum of Art

When a design icon speaks at the Nevada Museum of Art for an AIGA Reno Tahoe event, it would be natural to create a poster to commemorate the visit. But when the design icon is Primo Angeli, known for his poster work, it could also be a little challenging.

The team at Stan Can Design rose to the occasion to produce a memorable limited edition print that was signed and framed as a keepsake.

Printed on the smooth-yet-toothy Canon Fine Art paper, the inkjet poster has a rich matte look and feel. The gray and black palette is punctuated by strategically placed touches of red – a star in the fireworks at the top and a swath under the hand-drawn illustration of the venue.

Inspired by the unique shape of the Nevada Museum of Art – an asymmetrical building that appears to be unwinding – the illustration rises up through the center of the design to take center stage.
