Airplane Takes Flight on Conqueror

Spring brings folks out of their winter hibernation for all sorts of exciting outdoor activities – none more thrilling than an air show.

But recently, a very special aviation record was broken – the event involved a paper airplane fashioned out of Conqueror CX22.

The paper airplane was designed by John Collins and broke the Guinness World Record for greatest distance flown. Known as “the paper airplane guy,” Collins has been perfecting his design for several years. In 2011, he selected Conqueror as his paper of choice.

“Pilot” and Arena Football League quarterback, Joe Ayoob, threw the hand-folded paper aircraft 226 feet, 10 inches on Feb. 26, 2012 at McClellan Air Force Base in California. This is the greatest distance ever recorded for a paper airplane flight.

As the exclusive North American distributor for Arjowiggins, Appleton Coated arranged the donation of the paper.
