In PaperSpecs’ upcoming free webinar sponsored by Komori America Corporation, see how the precision of laser cutting can take your print project from good to fabulous.

Palo Alto, California – November 28, 2017 – When it comes to creating powerhouse print projects, the devil is often in the details. With laser cutting, the precision and accuracy of a laser helps designers carve out intricate shapes and patterns that can take your printed pieces from beautiful to show-stopping.

Unlike die-cutting, in which a machine cuts paper into shapes with a blade, laser cutting uses the laser to perforate your design. Designers not only get high-detail, high-impact creations, but they can also save money since no custom die is required for the project.

The best way to see the power of laser cutting is by witnessing its stunning effects. In this exclusive webinar, designer Michael Reilly will show attendees the nuts and bolts of laser cutting and how to incorporate it into their design arsenal. Marketing and communications strategist Kristi Hubert will then lead attendees on a deep dive into how the technology was instrumental in crafting a calendar that stands out from the crowd.

“Laser cutting gives designers the ability to produce sophisticated patterns that are absolutely mesmerizing,” says Sabine Lenz, founder of PaperSpecs.com. “I’m excited that Michael Reilly and Kristi Hubert are willing to showcase all of the versatility this technology offers.”

Whether you’re producing invitations, cards, gift tags or other paper projects, laser cutting can give your project a sharper edge.

Michael Reilly
Michael is the beating heart of Artifacture. If there was ever someone who was made to do what we do, it’s him. He constantly absorbs new knowledge and skills without apparent effort, and somehow manages to apply them in ways that never occur to most people. Without Michael, there would be no Artifacture. As you might expect, Michael has had a whirlwind career that is as varied as his interests. He began with a degree in Print Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology, which he promptly ignored when he accepted a job as the webmaster for the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. When he got bored with that, he took a job as one of the principal developers for Xpressdocs, one of the very first web to print companies, where he helped pioneer interfaces, real time online proofing systems, and back-end workflows that facilitated orders approved by 4pm to be printed and shipped the same day. From there, he moved on to the agency world where he was responsible for development and deployment for Frito Lay’s brand portfolio. And his last stop before becoming an entrepreneur was doing embedded development for next-gen set-top boxes.

Kristi Hubert
Kristi is a marketing and communications strategist with more than 20 years of experience building brands and giving them a voice, all while generating leads and building sales. Co-owner of PrairieFire Communications, she has assembled and leads a group of marketing strategists who are smart, sophisticated and even witty. They’ve partnered with clients (both B2B and B2C) across the country helping them determine what and how they want to communicate. And the agency is filled with designers, wordsmiths, planners, traffickers and online gurus. Frankly, it’s one helluva team and she loves working with them. She always looks at the big picture, yet never loses sight of the small stuff. Call her anal-retentive if you want. Won’t be the first time. And that means she’s as comfortable determining strategic direction as she is working on the day-to-day projects to make sure goals are met. Representing a broad range of clients in both the B2B and B2C segments, she’s tackled an even broader range of projects.
