This birthday party invitation HAD to have made the other parents laugh out loud and feel just a tad jealous (probably a lot jealous). And someday, the two-year-old client on the project will be very happy that his dad is this cool designer guy who can make neat drawings and say funny things.
The theme and concept for the logo (yes, a logo) came about because the designer’s son loves trains. The invite proper, with its round corners and perf, is a ticket (literally) to the fun.
Then of course, there’s the poster (yes, a poster) for the event. Here, the typography is as crisp as the client himself. The copy is adorable and smile-inducing fun: The Quiet Car Is Located: Nowhere on this train, ever, anywhere /Non-Stop Daily From: Upstairs to Downstairs & Back Again.
The palette is all-boy blue, but in a modern turquoise hue. The invite, printed digitally with variable data (each recipient’s name) on Mohawk Superfine, feels as smooth as a ride on the lightning-fast Grahamtrak.
