Weekly Quiz: Which Paper Type is Best for Laser Cutting?

Answer: Uncoated!

While you can laser cut anything from Text weight through 24-point card stock or more, you’ll want to stick with uncoated stocks when possible. That’s because coated stocks leave quite a bit of dust behind.

While we’re on the subject, laminated stocks cannot be laser-cut, either. Yet there are a variety of materials (besides paper) that can be – including Mylar, acrylic, and wood – that can measure up to 1.25 inches thick!
