Why Can Converting Files to CMYK Cause Trouble Later?

Answer: Lost Color!

The problem is that when you convert artwork to the wrong CMYK profile, some of your colors can disappear from the file before the printer even gets it.

That can leave your final piece looking duller, flatter or less vibrant. That’s especially true if the press your printer is using could have reproduced a wider range of color if it had been working with the right color profile.

The solution? Ask your printer which CMYK profile they actually need before you package up your files.
