Bold Pop-up Cocktail Menu

Beaufort Bar pop-up bookThis may or may not be the world’s first pop-up cocktail menu, but it certainly is an arresting presence long before you’ve taken your first sip of the evening. Designed for The Savoy hotel’s Beaufort Bar in London by that city’s paper engineer Helen Friel and illustrator Joe Wilson, this book is a stunner. Each of its 15 pages features a cocktail created by The Savoy’s Head Bartender, Chris Moore; the book is limited to 1,000 copies. The video of its making is a joy in and of itself:

If you’re thinking of picking up a copy for yourself or a friend, you’ll need to part with  £50 (about $80). As Wilson reminds us, “you never know, it might end up like the infamous ‘Savoy cocktail book’ which now collects in excess of £200 on eBay!”

As it doesn’t appear to be for sale anywhere online that we could see, you might want to drop The Savoy a line here for more info.
