The Chocolate

413-chocolate-4

To one of my friends, packaging chocolate is a bit like “gilding the lily.” She’s such a fan that even the sight of semi-sweet chips in a plastic sandwich bag makes her giddy. Me? Well … I’m of the opinion that something so delicious and sumptuous should be treated with the respect and reverence it deserves.

For these handmade chocolate delights created by Francesca Pasini and served at Hotel Principe Delle Nevi in Cervinia, Italy, that translates to luxury presentation at every level. Plan b creative team found a perfect mix between classic Italian design and clean and modern elements for this project.

The perfect shade of yum (brown) anchors the box design. Silver and blue play nicely against this backdrop. Gold foil stamping imparts a feeling of prestige to the logo and the packaging. The bellyband emphasizes the artisan quality of the confections and creates a bit of anticipation. (No, we should NOT rip the box open to devour these beautiful chocolates. We should relax and savor them. Good luck with that.)
