If you’re a printing company, what’s the best way to show designers you walk the talk? Leave them with a business card they won’t soon forget!
The deboss – and everything inside this piece – makes it instantly clear who “da boss” is: the giver of this card! Let’s take a look!
Many thanks to Debi Bergerson at Enpointe for this stunning sample!

Hi Sabine!
While I would agree that the Enpointe “promo piece” is a very cool little design, I don’t think it qualifies as the “Perfect Business Card”.
As boring and predictable as this guideline might be, a printed business car that does not come close to the 3.5″ x 2″ format will often find its way to the circular file. If a card is too big, too small or too bulky, they can be thought of as a bit of a nuisance – even if these thoughts are unconscious.
That said, I’m a firm believer in always pushing design and behavioral boundaries.
Keep up the great work you do at Paper Specs!

Thank you for your thoughts on this, Jim. Do you have links to any cards that you consider more in keeping with your business card philosophy? Would love to see them! 🙂
Hi Aaron,
I’m actually on-deadline right now, but will get back to you. In general, a good or effective business card will clearly convey the pertinent info (name, title, contact info, et al.) and support or reinforce the company’s brand identity & zeitgeist. A bonus would be it is memorable. Icing on the design cake would be it is clever or cutting-edge.
Oh, and let’s not forget that the printing needs to be close to flawless, without any inconsistencies.
