Karen + Rick Invitation

KarenRick

Okay, they had me at the circles on this wedding invitation – my absolute favorite geometric shape! An obvious metaphor for marriage, but these are concentric circles reminiscent of the ripples on a pond – an even deeper meaning, no? The inspiration for this piece was the groom … well, now you have me smiling and wondering – was he going around in circles over the wedding plans? Is he dizzy in love?

Blind debossing of the circular pattern on this piece added great depth and my second favorite thing – texture. The letterpress brought this wonderfully simple design to life.

The designer also had great observations, “When you blind deboss a circular pattern the light plays a lot of tricks on your eyes. We thought the impression was missing on part of the circles and kept adjusting the press initially, until finally we realized it was just the way the light was hitting the debossed pattern.”

Karen and Rick Invitation was featured as a Paper Inspiration.
