Genesys Holiday Card

The designers of this holiday card found their inspiration from the fun and playful spirit of the children in all of us. You know, the kind of kids who like to make things with their hands.

A two-part concept consisted of a sheet of perforated cards that when detached were meant to be inserted into one of three diecut pockets on the main greeting. The diecuts are a penguin, a snowman and a gingerbread man.

While taking their cue from the typical red, green and blue, the design team brought a contemporary take to the color palette by choosing fluorescent orange, lime and cyan.

These same colors were printed on the inside of the pockets. You don’t actually see the blocks of colors, but they do glow from around the edges of the diecut shapes. This also serves as a hint as to which card goes with which pocket. (But I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who had to see the results of placing the cards in the incorrect pockets. I think I liked this even better!)

Genesys Holiday Card was featured as a Paper Inspiration.
