Process NorCal Cover Fall 2012

There’s no mistaking the designer of this special cover for Process magazine’s NorCal edition. The inspiration was a poster designed by Michael Osborne that garnered a Grand Prize for Spectrum Lithograph at the Visual Media Alliance Showcase 2012.

A unique combination of processes and techniques (4-color process, gloss UV, matte varnish, soft touch coating, PMS silver ink and diecutting) come together in one piece to create a stunning final product.

The fold-in front cover design presented a spectrum of color arranged in a stamp-like structure similar to a pattern of color chips. Printed on 120 lb. Sterling Premium Dull Cover, the deep vibrant hues literally light up next to a matte black background.

Once opened, diecut windows expose the names of the colors on another stamp grid below. Flip this panel open and the stamps reveal a hidden message that promotes and celebrates the magazine’s mission … Behind Every Brilliant Idea is the Process.
