If there was a book that represented the heart, soul and experiences of a graphic designer, I would definitely pick Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll – and such was the inspiration for this direct mail piece for the 2011 ADDY Competition.
The layers of texture, checkerboard pattern, clever copy, typography and royal colors all bring that zany, adventurous spirit of Alice (and our graphic designers) to mind.
And as each panel is unfolded to reveal the details, you can’t help but be reminded that creative lives unfold in much the same way – as a process of exploration and discovery.
The thoughtful engineering of this brochure can be seen with the RSVP card (it’s part of one of the folded arms that has been perfed for easy removal and return). Our “mad hat” is off to the creators!
