DCM Lunar New Year Party Invitations

367-dcmlunar-3

It’s a rare treat to see a series of four consecutive annual corporate invitations all at once like this. The same strong design re-themed each year confirms that you can never get enough of a good thing. It also shows us how to reinforce a brand’s image.

That design consistency is also a very appropriate message for this company, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm with significant investments in China.

The card welcomes the Year of the Dog, Boar, Rat, and Ox by using the company’s initials to create the Chinese lunar calendar animal. The diecut pop-up animal (done in gold foil) provides an element of surprise and wonder, creating a three-dimensional form from its beautiful two-dimensional Stora Enso Centura Dull Cover. The envelopes (Stardream Metallic Antique Gold) add just the right touch of glamour and richness.

A gradated pattern of animals on the backs of the cards and envelopes playfully suggests the concept of attendees gathering to celebrate and network. I love how the company’s initials, which provide an infinite combination of patterns and forms when used in a creative manner, are used as ornamentation on the animals.
