QR Code Puts Tokyo in Your Palm

box_125It should be tattooed over the heart of every working marketing professional: “Make Your QR Code Do Something Interesting!” Far too often it seems that the QR code imagination begins and ends with “send them to our homepage”. What else can be done with the ugly little buggers? Take a look at what Bandai came up with: the Hako [“Box”] Vision.

Simply scan the QR code on the cardboard box, then place your smartphone on top of it and let the fireworks begin. The phone projects a video across a refracting screen inside the box, splashing the images across a cutout of a Tokyo building.

While it’s probably a bit more pricey than the usual direct-mail item, you know this is one piece of identity that would never leave a potential client’s possession.
