In today’s digitally saturated world, people yearn for experiences they can touch. As a result, tactile effects on marketing materials, and especially packaging, are becoming increasingly popular. These effects can also stimulate other senses, and thus create a stronger emotional connection with a brand. Among the most common techniques for doing this are foil stamping and embossing/debossing. Now though, advances in digital technology are providing designers with new ways to add “touchability” to their printed work, even on short print runs.
