Dillon Wedding Invitation

90dillon

When you think of a wedding invitation, you don’t usually imagine an 8.5 x 11 inch heavyweight flyer mailed in a purple envelope. But that’s what made this invitation stand out (literally) from the crowd.

The large 100 lb. single sheet is a casual concept fitting for the beach location of the post-nuptial festivities. The designers used the beach as inspiration for the imagery, too – sand, octopus tentacles and a map. And while you won’t find any pink satin bows, there is a nod to the traditional “tying the knot” theme with a photo of heavy-duty boat rope.

The over-sized piece allowed the designers to dispense with the typical components of wedding invites (return envelope, separate RSVP card, lodging info card and driving directions card) and incorporate them onto the back of the invitation.

Wedding guests simply had to cut out the RSVP and return that while keeping the rest of the card as a handy all-in-one reminder of where, when, and how to get there.

Dillon Wedding Invitation was featured as a Paper Inspiration.
