A Paper Hug in the Air

headrest_message_1275As we officially find ourselves in the holiday season, many will be jetting off to visit family and friends, which makes this sweet promotion between Dutch airline KLM and Amsterdam Airport Schipol seem all the more timely. The idea was simple: allow loved ones to hand write or draw a final message for travelers, to be discovered on their headrests when they board the plane a little while later.

Sure, many of these people will be texting, Facebooking and tweeting with those people in a few hours anyway, but how many of those headrest messages do you think will be saved for months and even years to come? One more example of how paper continues to give weight and importance to what would only be ephemeral, quickly-forgotten data in our digital world.
