An Airborne Invitation

inviteSome design firms talk a good game about “thinking outside the box,” but French studio Murmure seems incapable of even locating “the box” in the first place. Unfortunately, like most of its projects, details about this one are scant-to-nonexistent. Here’s the brief from their website, but quite frankly we can’t tear our eyes from the interplays of light and dark here:

“For the European Night of Museums of 2011, the Beaux-Arts Museum of Caen entrusted Murmure with the task of developing the conceptual planning of the event in the castle gardens. Light (transparence) and lightness (poetry) are the themes which inspired Murmure. Suggesting a street-marketing concept, luminous balloons transporting the invitation cards floated across the town’s streets. A black envelope revealed its’ content using transparence and attracted the visitor to the gardens to discover a luminous and ephemeral installation.”
