The Beauty of Centura brochure - inspiring thoughts on beauty, photographs by Emin Kadi and Centura premium coated paper.

These three components add to the finished brochure, each contributing to the overall quality and driving home the overriding message - Centura is and conveys beauty. 

"Since good design often has a strong editorial component, we thought it was imperative for the book to tell a story," explains Alex Isley, principal of Alexander Isley Inc., and creative director of this brochure.

Alex continues, "We compiled a collection of quotes from painters, poets, writers, architects, philosophers, economists and musicians.  The quotes, juxtaposed with Emin Kadi's photographs, talk about the beauty of making art, which we hoped would make the book a keepsake."

The photographs dictated which printing techniques would best accentuate each photograph. For example, a photo of a woman in a red dress was printed with Hexachrome* technique (which uses specially formulated six-color inks) to enhance the red.

Spot varnishes, metallics, raised UV, four-color UV, pearlescent varnish, foil stamping and even thermography type enhance the book and demonstrate many print enhancement techniques.

The illustrations throughout the book are produced with custom tinted metallic varnishes, where the printer matched laser printouts.  Each illustration echoes an element in the photograph to tie the spread together. The metallic tints are very faint, so they don't overpower the photography.

The paper used for this brochure, Centura, is a premium coated paper featuring 10 percent postconsumer recycled fiber, triple chain of custody certification and optical properties and finishes to match the highest standards in print production.

Centura is available in four distinct finishes - gloss, silk, dull and matte - in sheets, web offset and digital cut sizes.
