Pantone Pixel Art

pantone_125Just as the prophecies uttered by the Oracle at Delphi were probably the result of the poor woman being overcome by petrochemical fumes beneath the temple, we fear that a similar madness may one day be linked to the daily use of Pantone books. How else do we explain the increasing use of Pantone chips themselves as a raw material for art projects?

Last month it was giant emoticons created from Pantone chips. This month: pixelated posters made up of thousands of Pantone swatches, courtesy of Spanish artist Txaber. Quoth the artist: “It is a laborious process, but I think the result is interesting.”

Henceforth, those afflicted by Pantone-related madness of this kind will be called “Pantouched.”
