Differentiating Digital Papers
What defines digital paper? Typically when selecting paper, one considers quality, performance, appearance, basis weight and availability. Aside from these properties there are other factors to consider when choosing paper for a digital print project-the most obvious being finish.

The new Neenah Paper Digital Papers are treated with a proprietary universal finish that has been tested and optimized for use in all digital presses. Additionally, all CLASSIC CREST Digital, CLASSIC Linen Digital and CORONADO SST Papers are HP Indigo Certified, qualified by the Rochester Institute of Technology Printing Applications Laboratory.

There are other benefits of digital printing that are not as commonly recognized. For one, customers can make last minute changes without jeopardizing the project schedule, or order reprints on short notice as needed.

It’s print-on-demand, delivering what the customer wants when the customer wants it. So it stands to reason that the paper must be readily available in the specific sizes required. All three of Neenah Paper’s digital brands are available in four digital sizes including 12 x 18 and 13 x 19.

Combining traditional offset and digital printing, these projects usually require perfectly matched, high performance premium papers and are usually high end, high dollar.

They might involve some personalization, but it’s possible that printing exclusively digital may not be an option due to size, print quality or configuration. In projects like these, versatility is of paramount importance.
