Mill swatchbooks are our all-time favorite printed pieces (for obvious reasons!), and this Cascades Digital Paper swatchbook is a prime example of how to design and execute well.
Two papers are featured in the swatchbook, so each needed to have its own identity. Along with a physical separation of the stocks, differentiation is achieved visually through color-coding on the tabs and the type.
But the real piece de resistance on this swatch is that it’s a print demonstration as well. Each paper is printed on each of the major digital presses that will run the stock. You not only get to see how color looks on the paper, but how each type of digital press prints that same image.
Our hats are off on the coordination of four different printers on the project – printing different basis weights, text versus cover and different digital printing technologies; managing the moving parts in bindery; ensuring everybody has the right information; and remaining on schedule – amazing!
