Amanda Palmer gave a TED talk on the art of asking. And she’s right. If you want to get folks to help you out, you just need to ask. So what would happen if you gave them something fun to do … or better still, threw in a creative keepsake? I bet you’d have them lining up.
This is what the save-the-date mailer for Create Explore Discover (an annual art retreat in California) is created to do. Designed by Stan Can Design, it’s effective thanks to all the lovely elements: a colorful image from a well-known artist, very nice paper, an Instagram hashtag, and an Origami call to action sure to get you in the mood to create.
A little mystery – there are no instructions on how to fold the piece – adds a challenge hard for any creative to resist. Recipients interact with the piece, then photograph and post to Instagram.
