The Moities Wedding Invitation

The Moities Wedding Invitation - PaperSpecs

Imagine a wedding banquet hosted by Lady Rose from Downton Abbey where she has chosen Shakespeare’s ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ as the theme.

A wedding invite certainly reflects the taste of the couple and hints at the feel of the event whether traditional, casual or somewhere in between. Ink Scribbler and Amis Print go one giant step further for the Moities wedding invitation by artfully combining several print techniques and a strong storyline to evoke a mood.

To accomplish this, the design keys on a watercolor where a magical woodland in the foreground is layered with a busy city skyline in the background. We are physically rooted in the present, but our senses are taken to the early 2oth century. Watercolor appears again on the information card. This time, it is a couple in 1920s formal attire – the suggested dress for the wedding.

The painterly feel is carried throughout the invitation suite with flowing script and paintbrush swatches on the map illustration. Texture develops through the use of letterpress embossing, thermography and paper.

A masculine, cool blue and black palette is balanced by the cream-colored stock that predominates all other pieces in the suite. Adding an envelope lining that recalls the painting along and using silver foil lettering elevates the casual elegance of the theme.
