2:00 p.m. Eastern (11:00 a.m. Pacific)

Palo Alto, California – August 25, 2011 – New paper options, more customization opportunities, advances in press capabilities, unique design possibilities – these are just some of the reasons that digital printing is so exciting today.

PaperSpecs’ next free webinar “Pushing the Digital Envelope” will show attendees how to push the creative envelope and leverage the latest digital technology and materials to create highly successful print projects.

Guest speakers, Megan Smith Valdez, director of Client Services at B Squared, and Scott Crockett, a third-generation printer and co-owner of Keiger Printing Company, will reveal little known secrets about digital printing in 2011.

“Whether it’s a special envelope, mounting sheets together, adding some sparkle or printing with white ink, we’ll be sharing the best, most innovative, on-demand solutions for your projects – ideas that can really set your communications apart from the rest!” says Valdez.

Valdez and Crockett will show off examples of the digitally printed work they’ve done and pass along tips, tricks and insights on:

  • Files – set-up tips to sit up and take notice
  • Ink – white never looked so versatile
  • Finishing – when glue is bad and creases are good
  • How significant is paper choice with regard to specialty folding?
  • Paper – when thick isn’t thick enough, tricks to try

“There really isn’t a lot of readily available information out there about how to prepare a job to be successfully printed in the digital world,” says Scott Crockett. “And yet there are so many ways to make that printed piece shine! I’m really looking forward to telling everyone about these cutting-edge ideas.”

You don’t want to miss “Pushing the Digital Envelope.” This webinar is free thanks to the generous support of Neenah Paper. Space is limited, so reserve your seat today for this special event at www.paperspecs.com/webinar.

About Megan Smith Valdez

Megan Smith Valdez is the director of Client Services at B Squared, a full-service marketing communications and print solutions company in New York City. Megan has been with B Squared since 2004, starting as a marketing coordinator, moving into account management and then transitioning to her current role. As director of Client Services, she oversees the Account Management and Graphic Design departments and plays an integral role in the firm’s product and business development efforts. Over the years, she has also become the resident paper and envelope expert – mostly due to her lifelong fascination with social stationery and office supplies. Prior to joining the firm, Megan worked as an interior designer and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Michigan State University.

About Scott Crockett

Scott Crockett is a third-generation printer. He began his career with the family business Keiger Printing Company. As with many family printers, he was taught all production aspects of the business. With a particular fondness for hand type, mechanical art and extreme substrates, Scott learned early that although anything is possible some things are not practical. In the late 80s, Scott entered sales for Keiger, and by the early 90s became one of North Carolina’s first certified graphic arts sales representatives (CGASR). With a new outlook on sales and graphics, he began most of his consultations with, “Yes is going to be the short answer to almost every question.” He has helped Keiger develop its flair for making the impractical seem practical. As early adopters, Scott and older brother, President Louis, have continued a long line of firsts with the first purchase and installation of the iGen4 in North America.
