After receiving an overwhelming amount of suggested feedback from the market, Cordenons research and development team headed back to the drawing board to create the new colors. The R & D team had one goal in mind – give the people what they want.
Adding more colors to the lineup is an important step in continuing to support the ongoing trends and demands. Responding to the creative community’s request to add new colors to Plike, a long-time favorite of paper enthusiasts, is very important to Gruppo Cordenons.
“Our customers are our best source of information, and that’s very important to us. We produce products based on what the creative experts in the trenches deem to be sought after,” says Collette Pelletier, vice president for the United States, “and really, who knows better than they do?”

Why is Plike so… Plike-a-rific?
Plike (for Plastic Like) is an artistically innovative fine paper with a suede-like, tactile finish. The complex coating gives a supple and sensual sensation that compares to no other true paper product in today’s market.
Made from elemental chlorine-free (ECF) pulp that comes from responsibly managed forests, Plike is recyclable and biodegradable.
Plike is wonderful for offset printing, thermography, engraving, silk screening, foil stamping, embossing, UV varnish, diecutting, folding, packaging, laminating and is laser compatible.
In addition to the new colors, Plike is also available in White, Black, Red, Blue, Graphite, Bordeaux, Green, Brown and Ivory. Plike is stocked in 95 lb. Text, and 122 lb. Plike Pearl – get it while you still can.
Adding more colors to product lines sometimes mean you have to let some go. Future production of Pearl will be on a special mill-run basis only and is subject to minimums. There is still plenty in stock, but you better hurry.
When can I get the new colors?
The new colors of Plike and sample sheets will be available by mid-December 2010. Revised swatchbooks will be ready for distribution in January 2011.
