Traditionally, plastic clamshells, jewel cases and oversized packaging were the norm for protecting these products and aiding in theft prevention. However, all of that plastic places a growing burden on the nation’s waste stream. In fact, the EPA estimates that over 30 percent of all landfill waste is packaging material.

Monadnock has recently assembled its media and entertainment packaging products lineup into a new mini-folio entitled Media Packaging Papers. This sampler provides detailed product specifications and commercial applications for Monadnock Envi PC 80 Folding Box Board, Monadnock Duraprint 7 and Monadnock Astrolite PC 100, as well as printed samples that demonstrate how the products print, emboss and stamp. These samples represent a large portion of the entertainment community’s packaging requirements and make samples available in a specifier-friendly portfolio.
Software, Videos and Components: Monadnock PC 80 Folding Box Board
For applications like software, video games and gamer components, Monadnock Envi PC 80 Folding Box Board (FBB) is a high caliper 18 pt. 80 percent postconsumer recycled fiber content paperboard designed as an environmentally preferable solution to plastic clamshell packaging.
Envi FBB is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and carries the FSC Mixed Sources label assuring that only responsibly sourced recycled and virgin fibers are used to make this product. Envi PC 80 FBB is designed for traditional offset printing. It is manufactured carbon neutral using 100 percent renewable Green-e certified electrical energy and is fully recyclable. Custom coatings, weights, finishes, textures and shades are available for the brand owners requiring a unique, individualized packaging solution.
CD/DVD Collector Sets and Book Covers: Monadnock Duraprint 7
Specially designed for turned-edge applications where repetitive, crack-free folding is required, Monadnock Duraprint 7 is a strong yet pliable 5.4 pt. cover material. It offers superb printability and dependable post-press converting for multi-level embossing, foil stamping, scoring and diecutting. No special inks or special on-press treatments are required to achieve high-resolution print results.
Perfect for CD/DVD cases, boxed sets and book covers, Duraprint 7 is the only polymer-reinforced covering stock to carry Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for responsibly sourced fiber and is manufactured carbon neutral using 100 percent Green-e certified renewable electrical energy.
Manuals, Brochures and CD Inserts: Monadnock Astrolite PC 100
For offset printed literature and other forms of commercial printing and graphic arts applications, Monadnock Astrolite PC100 is a full line of Text and Cover papers, including a 130 lb. double thick cover.
It is one of the cleanest, brightest and smoothest 100 percent postconsumer recycled fiber content printing papers made. Astrolite PC 100 is made in a smooth finish with a minimum of flecks and blemishes often found in high waste content papers.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification assures that 100 percent postconsumer recycled fiber was used to make this paper. Astrolite PC 100 is manufactured carbon neutral using 100 percent Green-e certified renewable electrical energy. In addition to traditional offset printing, Astrolite PC 100 has been optimized to perform beautifully on laser and inkjet printing platforms.
