The UnShow competition celebrates all forms of expression on any uncoated paper (not just Neenah). Neenah covers your entry fee to make it FREE for you to enter one or multiple projects. The UnShow web site will be open for public voting, as designers across the world vote for the top 25 entries in each category.
HP Print Excellence Awards

HP has launched the HP Print Excellence Awards, a new worldwide competition honoring graphic arts printing produced on HP Designjet, Indigo, Inkjet Web Press and Scitex systems.
An international panel of print experts will select winners in 16 categories of commercial print, wide-format graphics and label and packaging applications. In addition to evaluating print quality, the HP Print Excellence Awards also will recognize innovative examples of environmentally responsible printing.

Justified: AIGA Design Competition
Deadline: March 31, 2012
The stories of great design are powerful tools. The most successful case studies provide inspiration to fellow designers and serve as a learning tool that can be shared with clients, media and the public.
AIGA’s “Justified” competition will select examples of good design that are also described in terms of their effectiveness in meeting the client’s objectives. Entries will be judged based on their design attributes and also how well a short case is made on their effectiveness in a clear, compelling and accessible way. A discerning and qualified jury will identify submissions that serve as an effective tool to explain design’s value to clients, students, peers and the public in general.
Conqueror’s “Typographic Games”
Deadline: April 30, 2012
Conqueror, the global premium paper brand from Arjowiggins Creative Papers of Paris, France, launched its “Typographic Games.” This graphic design and typographic poster competition issues a challenge on the theme of sport and on the phrase “It’s not what you win, but how you conquer it.” Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded and the Gold Medalist will win two tickets to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Open to designers, printers, students and other creative professionals from around the world, the deadline is April 30, 2012 and entry is free. The only requirement is that the entries incorporate the phrase, “It’s not what you win, but how you conquer it.” Submissions can be entered and will be voted for online.
Communication Arts Design Competition
Deadline: May 11, 2012
Enter the most prestigious competition for creativity in graphic design, the Communication Arts Design Competition. Any design project printed, published or aired for the first time from May 2011 through May 2012 is eligible. Selected by a jury of leading design professionals, the winning entries will be distributed worldwide in the Communication Arts Design Annual and on commarts.com, assuring important exposure to the creators of this outstanding work.
Mohawk Show 12
Deadline: May 31, 2012
Enter your best work in the Mohawk Show design competition for a chance to win $5,000. There’s no entry fee, and any book, poster, brochure, stationery, invitation or direct mail piece printed primarily on Mohawk paper is eligible.
This year’s winners receive cash prizes and exposure through publicity, a traveling exhibit and a printed catalog. Four grand prize winners receive $5,000 each. Four special category winners – Strathmore, Digital, On-demand book, and Environmental – receive $2,500 each, and special mentions receive $500 each.
