Kallima’s Less is More story, a unique, limited edition book about creativity, cost savings and sustainability, is hot off the press. Printers and designers will learn that the low-density construction of Kallima paperboard provides more yield over competing products. And using fewer trees is good news for the planet.
“Not only did we want to demonstrate to our customers that buying our paperboard is both an economical and wise environmental choice, we also wanted to do so in a creative way,” says Renée Yardley, vice president, Sales and Marketing, Tembec Paperboard Group, which produces the Kallima line.
Versatility is beautiful
The book richly illustrates the flexibility of Kallima paperboard through brilliant colors, die cuts, folding, varnishes and embossing. “It’s definitely a keepsake that shows off what this paperboard can do,” she adds. The Less is More book will be available at www.kallimapaper.com and distributed to a select number of printers and designers.
Why Less is More
The Less is More campaign delivers a key message about the Kallima brand’s unique point of difference in a competitive market. “The low-density construction of our paperboard gives you more for less money. In fact, it provides up to 20 percent more yield over competing paperboard,” emphasizes Yardley. “At the same time, we’re giving our customers the capacity to print quality work at a great price,” she adds.
FSC: A label to show off
Tembec’s environmental message has a lead role in the story. “We’re also using less pulp and fewer trees to make our totally recyclable paperboard. As well, our FSC certification is reassurance to our clients that our products come from well-managed forests,” she says.
Printers and designers can feel good about buying products from a company that cares, she emphasizes. “The FSC Chain of Custody ensures that every single pulp supplier who deals with us has to meet those high standards.” The company tracks and monitors wood fibers from the forest through every step of the production process.
Stimulating creative thinking
Whether it’s reusing, recycling or reinventing, printers and designers are encouraged to send in their creative ideas about ways to use paperboard and still keep the planet for generations to come.
