Looks like Moab, a brand of Legion Paper, received its own Academy award nod this year.
For the first time, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences created a custom exhibition showcasing a limited edition set of large format 30”x40” portraits of this year’s nominees in the categories of Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
Famed photographer Douglas Kirkland completed portraits of all 20 Academy Award acting nominees, which were printed entirely on Moab’s Entrada Rag Natural 300.
A signed, limited edition of three of each nominee’s image will be distributed: one set will be donated by Kirkland to the Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library; one as a personal gift to the nominee; and the third to be donated to each individual’s charity of choice.
The exhibition, called Out of Character, will be on view at The Academy Grand Lobby Gallery in Beverly Hills, California through Sunday, March 18, 2012.
